This exhibition explores photography as an expressive art form. Through the intentional use of light, texture, and distinctive composition, the work of Bergeron and McGrath reflects a shared vision for creative exploration. Blurring the boundaries between photography and art, both photographers use techniques such as multiple exposure, compositing, and innovative editing and printing processes to elevate photographs beyond literal representation.
Spanning genres from architecture and botanicals to landscapes, street, and travel photography, their work is unified by a dedication to visual inquiry and creative process. Each image invites the viewer to experience, reflect, and discover new ways of seeing the familiar.
Lisa Bergeron: I am a life-inspired photographer who artfully interprets the world through a creative lens. Drawn to the interplay of light, color, texture, and mood, I create images that evoke emotion, spark curiosity, and invite connection—each rooted in visual storytelling and a deep appreciation for the creative process.
As a passionate traveler and creative soul, I am inspired by diverse landscapes, vibrant cultures, and the people and places that uniquely define their essence. My editing approach is an extension of my vision, thoughtfully balancing subtle enhancement with artistic interpretation, so that each photograph emerges as a distinctive and expressive work of art.
I am an exhibiting photographer at Tiverton Four Corners Gallery and Plumb Gallery in Bristol, Rhode Island, and have participated in exhibitions at the Bristol Art Museum, DeBlois Gallery, at Blithewold, Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts, and other regional venues.
Vicky McGrath: I combine my love of photography of everyday life with the joy of traveling to new places. Using a variety of techniques including intentional camera movement (ICM), composites and Multiple Exposures, I focus on creating a representation of a feeling—my expression of a moment in time.
Sometimes my work is expanded by my imagination - what the place feels like or what it could be. All my work is derived from photographs taken with my full frame mirrorless camera, DSLR or various iterations of my iPhone. Some are straight from the camera, others are my photographs combined in post processing and others are multiple exposure images made within the camera.
I've enjoyed showing my work at both Juried and Member exhibits at the Bristol Art Museum, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, DeBlois Gallery, IMAGO Gallery, Mystic Museum of Art, Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts, and the Wickford Art Association.
